LynnEY Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 If you go into the sgs application and click on profile update it provides you with what your student number would be if you're accepted. Then you can check ROSI using that.
klc14 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I think you need to be a current UofT student to check ROSI. If you're applying from another university you just have to wait for the envelope. Luckily, this isn't the case. Find your student number by logging in here: https://apply.sgs.utoronto.ca/ Sign in with your application number, then go to application summary. Reported student number should be listed there. Use this number to sign in with ROSI.
MSWluv Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Im on Laurier waitlist for the Advance Standing and im really freaking out about my chances.

LynnEY Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I was reading along with last year's thread and if I remember correctly people started to get accepted to Laurier's two year program around March 20th or something. I wonder if this year will be later than that... AH I am going out of my mind waiting.
l_c Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Thankfully, everyone else was on it much faster than I was! And I'll say it's both great and terrible that we can check - I'm having dreams about it. As MSW13 mentions above, thankfully Angela seems to be awesomely on the ball :-) (I wonder if she knows how many compliments she receives on this forum.) very true. Can I ask how you are checking ROSI? I tried it just told me my student # is not valid....is that how you check? Thanks and good luck to all. It will be a tough month...fingers crossed ROSI lets you know sooner. Damn, guess I was wrong! That's great that it's possible for everyone.

klc14 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'm getting soooo anxious waiting. I was just looking through the 2013 forum and people didn't start hearing from U of T (2 year) until April 15. (Although it seems they didn't figure out the ROSI trick) I was hoping for early April! But with ~800 applicants, I guess that's understandable. Also noticed a few very worthy candidates get rejections from U of T and acceptances elsewhere....scary! Wishing I applied to a few more schools.....

Hey I think it's possible that we might hear back in the beginning of April considering the advance standing students heard back a little earlier I believe. Well I'm really hoping that will be the case because focusing on final exams/assignments is becoming impossible
l_c Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Ack, I'm also freaking out, and wishing I had applied more places! Realistically, I'm trying to imagine that U of T wait listed will be my best case scenario, and hopefully I won't be devastated if I get declined outright. I'm also away for a weekend in mid-April, if I don't know by then, it's going to be hard to have a good time. (Maybe I can get a friend to check my mail?) And b39, I'm hoping the same thing. Maybe if I have any luck, they'll be a week ahead with our decisions too. I'm trying to come up with a plan in case I get rejected too - I'm thinking continue to volunteer, ask for feedback, and work on my application for next year. Does anyone know if U of T automatically sends feedback, or would I have to ask for a meeting? It's really helpful to have this forum - it's a great, supportive place, and I appreciate all of the encouraging words! I'm getting soooo anxious waiting. You have to ask for a meeting...and I had to offer a number of gentle reminders to get it. I agree it's so great to have this forum. FYI last year answers came out mid-Aug. I looked at the 2012 results people got answers early April. Fingers crossed. l_c 1
ali_son Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Hey, so I know there are a couple of us on this thread who are also waiting to hear back about BSW apps at Dalhousie. Do any of you know when people heard back in previous years? I am pretty sure that MSW Dalhousie applicants have already been contracted, but it seem seems like BSW might be later.... From what I hear it is a great program and I so I am excited to find out if I got in! Hey, I applied to the BSW at Dal, as well as a couple 2 year MSW programs. The Dal website says that applicants will hear back in mid May.. :/ ah that is such a long wait
Sœur d'une Étoile Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Hey, I applied to the BSW at Dal, as well as a couple 2 year MSW programs. The Dal website says that applicants will hear back in mid May.. :/ ah that is such a long wait Thanks for letting me know! Wow, that is so late... Oh well.
smpalesh Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 The waitlist remains open until July 31. You may or may not hear anything, there isn't any specific date - it's just if a spot opens up in the program. I am waitlisted for Laurier as well, but I am going to remove myself from the list because I am going to UofT. Hello all MSW lovers!! What a great forum.. I am new here and just needed some motivation to feel good.. I am currently on the waitlist for Laurier Advance Program and feeling very nervous because I dont know when decisions will be made any insight will help
smpalesh Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 This was not true in my case. I am a UW student and I was able to check ROSI, but it was after decisions were made (before I got he envelope). It is probably too early. Wait until April. I think you need to be a current UofT student to check ROSI. If you're applying from another university you just have to wait for the envelope.
smpalesh Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Your status won't change on ROSI until they've made decisions. It is only mid-March, they are not making the decisions yet for the 2 yr. You can check ROSI as often as you want but there will be nothing on there until after they have decided your application status. Those of us who were able to check our ROSI status before the envelope it was only a few days before the decisions were sent out. And it was after all the decisions had been made. You will not here until early April at the soonest so I wouldn't drive yourself crazy checking ROSI. I'm getting soooo anxious waiting. And I kind of want to find out by the mail
Daniiii Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Just an update. For those who applied to the 2 year program at Windsor, they are now sending acceptances out. I received an email earlier this afternoon. Congratulations, that's great that you've heard back. I also applied to Windsor and I haven't received anything, so no luck there I guess. A quick question; if you log into your my.uwindsor.ca does it say that you've been accepted there as well, or does it say anything else? Mine still says "referred to the department", so I'm wondering if that means a decision hasn't been made yet or that they just haven't updated it with a refusal.
EEpa Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I applied to the University of Saskatchewan but because I'm an international applicant my POI said her taking me on as a student depends on if I receive a scholarship from the school. I'm supposed to know "within the month" but the wait is really taking its toll.
Daniiii Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I just received an email from Windsor; looks like I'm on the waitlist MSW13 1

I see that you updated your signature to wait listed. Would you still like me to check?
TS28 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I received also an e-mail from Windsor, saying the following: ''We have now begun to send out offers to the MSW Regular Track program starting in September, 2014. We have sent out our first 30 offers of admission. Each applicant will have two weeks from the date of their letter to either accept or decline the offer. Should an applicant decline, or not respond by the deadline, that offer will then be rescinded and sent to the next ranked applicant. We will continue this process until all 30 positions have been filled.'' I want to think I am on the wait-list and be positive but maybe they don't reject anybody, and it's just a very long wait-list LOL. That said, at least we have a glimmer of hope for the next few weeks! And wow, that was early, probably trying to beat Laurier for the first pics
SocialShawn Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Thanks so much for this. Unfortunately as I took a course last year my student number is not changing and ROSI is showing me as an undergrad. I"m going to call my college cause I want to know ASAhumanlyP Your student number will remain the same, but the home screen will change if you are invited to the program. I'm still using my previous student number and will be using my previous UTOR card. Edited March 18, 2014 by SocialShawn
SocialShawn Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 In terms of ROSI... Honestly... Who knows how long that information had been up there. I only thought of checking AFTER I heard that the decisions had been mailed out. It could have been up there much sooner than that.
ali_son Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Has anyone heard back from the two year program at University of Calgary? Someone on this forum got an acceptance letter last week into the one year program but I haven't heard anything about the two year amygdala29 1
