Do you know if most people find out through email or snail mail?

From what I know, last year most people received the decision in the mail and then their results changed on the SGS Admissions website.

Hello! I've been lurking for a while, but just created an account to commiserate with all of you. Waiting is SO HARD! I've only applied to one program (Foundation MSW at UBC) and can't wait to find out whether I will be going to school in the fall or looking for work. I can so relate to those who have written about checking their e-mails constantly, finding only listserv messages and ads.... argh!

Wishing all of you the best during this stressful time. A friend suggested that I try to introduce more fun things into my routine so that I don't get too bogged down, so I'm going to attempt to practice more self care during the next few weeks! Anyone have any suggestions? (Right now my only self care involves watching too much House of Cards). :)

Ultimately, I guess it all comes down to remembering that we all have so much to offer regardless of whether or not we get admitted. It's hard to remember that sometimes when the power balance feels so asymmetrical, but it's true!

This waiting does play mind tricks.  My best self care is trying to do some yoga everyday even if it is just 5-10min.  I find my head spinning thinking about what will happen if I don't get in OR what if I get in, what will I have to do to prepare.   I'm doing my best to keep my attention on the moment, but the future is so enticing.  You are so right that at the end of the day this decision is out of our hands AND their decision does not define us, only we can do that.

Another month and a half for us U of T 2 year waiters...

For the People waiting on Dal MSW program I got an email today from admissions asking me to confirm my current address. Not really sure what that means but hopefully I will know something soon. If anyone else heard anything please keep me posted

Cheers :)

Has anyone heard anything about the 2 year program at U of C? They had said we would know at the end of February :)

I am completely feeling that, I keep trying to rationalize every outcome in my head to calm down, no such luck. Hopefully by some chance the decision will come sooner

I have also been lurking for a while, but I never joined because it seemed to be pre-dominantly applicants of East Coast schools. I was encouraged to see that someone else applied to the Foundation MSW at UBC.

I was told at the beginning of the month (February) that it would take up to a month to hear back about the admissions decisions. I'm worried, because today is the last day of the month, and I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone heard back from UBC regarding the Foundation or Advanced programs?

I can definitely relate to everyone here in terms of checking e-mails and trying to put things into perspective.

Hello fellow west coaster!! :)

When I did my phone interview earlier in the month, I was told that we should hear back by mid-March... so I don't think that there is cause to be worried quite yet. Hope that helps.

Really? Okay. Thanks. I was told when I did my interview earlier this month that it would be up to a month which means anytime now. If it's mid-March, then there's still quite a bit of waiting time. Nice to think that we both might be in the same program together :) They are only taking 15 applicants this year, so it will be a small group.

It would be so great if we were both admitted! Yes, I was surprised to hear that it would be such a small cohort this year. I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed for both of us! And feel free to send me a message if you'd like to chat more.

Someone in my BSW program was accepted to the Advanced MSW program at UBC over a week ago.

Wow...tomorrow is March!!  It's been a loooong wait, I'm looking forward to hearing back from UofT soon and possibly York as well.  Does anyone know when Ryerson will be making decisions?

It is officially March!  Within the next 2 weeks we should have heard from UofT!

Hey! I'm trying to figure out when Ryerson is sending out responses too. I hope it's soon! Judging from past forums, it was early /mid March.

Hi everybody! I've created also an account in order to connect with all you stressed out people ;)

I was hoping to know if there is anybody out there who applied to UNBC (2 year) or Ottawa, I've applied in a bunch, but these two are my top 2 choices.  Did anybody get news from Ottawa? And how many people get in UNBC? Not too much info out there on the inter-web.

Take care!

Am I the only one constantly checking to see if my U of T status has changed from "Under Review" to something else. I am not sure why I keep looking when I know they are not making decisions until mid-March.

I look too but people from last year said they had already gotten their rejection or acceptance letters and the status still hadn't changed online.  So I'm not expecting that to be an indicator of anything.  We may hear earlier than mid-March, it says decisions will be mailed out by mid-March, so it could be before that.  Last year people started getting letters on March 6 or 7.

Thanks for the info. My understanding is that there's no interview process for the Advanced Program which may explain why the Foundation Program admissions decisions are later than the Advanced Program decisions. That's my guess anyways.

I applied to the MSW at Ottawa U (however it's only given in french), they are supposed to send out their answers no later than 10 march.  I have not heard from Dal!  I am applying into BSW as they don't accept non-BSW candidates for the MSW.

Thanks! That is good information to be aware of. So we could possibly even know this week? Wow it is getting so close!

I look too, I know last year my status changed before I got a letter, but some others had already gotten letters before their status online changed. I keep checking and I just want to know! I really hope we find out this coming week if you say some people heard by March 6th or 7th.

This is going to be a long week

I've decided that starting the 6th, I will actually start making calls home to find out if anything has arrived in the mail for me from U of T lol!!! Soooo anxious AND worried :-(

I keep going back and forth regarding whether or not my GPA, experience and letters of intent were strong enough...

Me too, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change it now.  I've read over my written statement multiple times.  I think it is actually really good (writing is one of my strong points) but you never know.  And I only have an 84% average (not sure what that is in GPA) so I'm a little concerned about that.  But all we can do now is wait!  And it is definitely going to be a very long week!
