  1. 5 years seems to be the norm for accepting undergrad courses. You can try, but I don't know how flexible they'll be.
  2. I've had no problems with the fin aid office and I've called a few times. I'm paying for mine primarily with loans this term and next term, but i'm gonna explore their scholarship options for fall 2017.
  3. Last cycle (for fall 2016) I applied to 6-7 schools and got rejected everywhere. I applied to NYU's online program in November and got admitted and started three weeks ago. Good luck!!
  4. I most definitely did, thanks! @panda1991 you're welcome.
  5. Ahh good luck! I was worried about all of my stats, but I was admitted and started classes last week.
  6. My closest friend from undergrad got a C in her pediatric language class this semester and is doing remediation too next semester. Don't freak about it and don't worry about what will happen if you do get another C. Just work on the remediation this semester and keep your head up. Grad school is tough, and SLP is an even tougher field. Good luck next semester!
  7. My undergrad professors told me no more than 1 page unless the school specified.
  8. Edfind through ASHA. Offhand I know ENMU does spring admission. NAU has a summers only track, if you wanted to do it that way.
  9. It is, but for the amount of support I've gotten so far and for being one of the only online programs with clinical placements where I live, it's also the only one that makes sense for me right now.
  10. Good luck! Waiting is the worst.
  11. Mine did not have a last 60 option, only what I received as a Communication Disorders major.
  12. Good luck! The GRE was terrifying for me too and I was kind of bummed with my stats. Let me know if I can help you at all!
  13. The SLP-A job was the only major difference on my resume and I was able to submit my Capstone paper that I completed in undergrad on post-extubation dysphagia, which I think helped too. I think NYU is more holistic than some off the other programs because my stats were low (3.4 cumulative gpa, 146 quant 152 verbal, 3.5 writing). I like NYU's application process because you work with an admissions counselor the whole time.
  14. Explain what drew you to the field. Did you/someone know work with an SLP? What areas of being an SLP are you interested in? For me, I spoke a lot about how I wanted to work with patients with dysphagia and spent most of my undergrad career researching it (Capstone paper, mock client, etc.). While you may not have experience, if you can show them why you're interested in the field and how you want to help people as an SLP, I think you stand a good chance. Good luck!!
  15. I accepted the job and then applied for my SLPA license through Arizona. I was offered the job 3 weeks before I graduated with my COMD degree. You can email me (annemariesullivan@outlook.com) if you want/need more help.
  16. I only had to email one prof but I always asked them if they received the link from x school and a reminder of the deadline.
  17. ENMU, NAU summers, NYU has an online track that's brand new and might be easier to get in.
  18. Yeah, I've been working as an SLP-A since June and have 7 years of ABA experience/working with children with varying disabilities.
  19. I applied to 8 for Fall 2016 admission and got rejected. I moved to Arizona after accepting a job as an SLP-A and applied to NYU's online program and start classes on Thursday. Shadow SLPs, work as an ABA therapist or an SLPA if your state will allow you to. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
  20. I applied to 7 schools last cycle and got rejected everywhere. I only applied to NYU's online track this cycle and got admitted. I had 2 different LORs than I did last cycle, have been working as an SLPA for six months and was able to submit my capstone paper as part of my application which I really think helped. Good luck!!
  21. ASU rarely looks at anyone less than a 3.8. NAU has a summers only option in addition to their full time on campus program. NMSU will look at your application, but I'm not sure what their cutoff is, I know they've lost quite a few professors. ENMU will look at your application too. You have quite a competitive list of schools there, maybe look at less competitive programs?
  22. There are! And I loved the professors there, they were my biggest cheerleaders when I got accepted to NYU's online program on Friday after being rejected everywhere last fall.
  23. FYI NM State's leveling program places all of the 'levelers' in the undergrad classes but there's usually a small group of levelers per year. If you're looking for bilingual, NM State would be great because of its close proximity to the border. My undergrad is from there and I had a great experience, but don't cut it out because you're not fond of where it is. It could be what stands between you and a great launching pad for a career.
  24. Try to get relevant experience either shadowing SLPs or getting your SLPA license if your state will allow and work as an SLPA for a bit. Make sure you'll get strong LORs and work on having a strong SOP as well. Look for newer programs, or programs that aren't as competitive using ASHA's EdFind.
  25. I knew it was live, which I really like, but I didn't think they'd offer classes that late! That's awesome, haha. Let me know if you get in! It'd be nice to have someone to study with!
