  1. Is HKS around 17%? And should we expect more people to be applying to these public policy programs this year? All I know is that EA apps for UChicago Harris went up a lot. 161%.
  2. Thanks for the encouragement! Love the econ major and Senate internship (did one in DC)! I'm happy you got into Harris too. I'll be at admitted students day so hopefully we'll run into each other!
  3. Program Applied To: (MPA, MPP, IR, etc.): MPP/MPA, MIA: SIPA Schools Applied To: HKS, SIPA, WWS, Chicago Harris, NYU Wagner Schools Admitted To: SIPA, Harris (both early) Schools Rejected From: Still Waiting: HKS, WWS, Wagner Undergraduate institution: Top 10 LAC Undergraduate GPA: Around 3.5 Last 60 hours of Undergraduate GPA (if applicable): Strong upward trend in past two semesters. Undergraduate Major: Economics, regional language GRE Quantitative Score: 161 GRE Verbal Score: 166 GRE AW Score: 4.5 Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 0 Years of Work Experience: 0 Describe Relevant Work Experience: 2 congressional internships in DC (1 committee in area of interest) Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): Excellent, had a few typos for EAs but I got in because I think my thought/enthusiasm showed. Having a plan (even tentative) and mission is good. Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): Excellent. Committee staff and college prof. Other: I didn't think I'd get in anywhere from undergrad, but I'm quite pleased with how things have turned out so far. I plan on Harris unless something changes and love the University of Chicago!
  4. I am also curious about this and would like Harris added to the mix.
  5. Guys, they will call you tonight (info courtesy of Admitted Students FB group). Good luck!
  6. I think it depends on the program. Traditionally I think they've done 2nd week of March for MPA, maybe earlier for others? I would love earlier decisions though but I'm definitely not holding my breath for MPAs in Feb.
  7. Good luck, guys! Envelopes showed up about a day before EA came out. Hope to see you at Admitted Students Day :D.
  8. I'm not sure whether this is relevant, but wouldn't HKS want to release decisions more than one day before Princeton (15th)? The latter offers a lot more aid and presumably has a higher yield rate.
  9. Yup, also got email.
  10. How portable is a Harris MPP to cities like DC?
  11. That's a lot of schools, good luck! I hope you get in somewhere this month.
  12. Thanks for answering. RIP improved grades, am I right?
  13. Not sure about all of these but following. What I will say is if you go to SIPA, you're much more likely to get funding as a second-year than the first year. The curriculum there is also great in terms of faculty for the MIA, but I'm not sure how the rigor compares to similar programs. It always feels strange lumping in MIA with MPP--not sure how comparable they are.
  14. Found this on their Tumblr. Does this apply to fall grades? I wanted to send my updated transcript... Question: Can I submit additional information regarding my candidacy? While we understand that applicants continue to engage in work and activities, receive recognition for work performed, earn scholarships, etc., we are unable to add additional information or updated documents (such as an updated resume or scholarship award notification) to an application file.
  15. Hey, in MA and just got a viewbook and letter from them after admission! Keep your eyes out. We're also supposed to get some kind of gift in the mail in a separate package!
  16. Awesome, thanks! Just wanted to double check.
  17. I got in EA but nothing about a scholly. Should we assume no funding? I heard we will find out either way in March...
  18. Hey, guys, sorry about that. Admit letters tonight! I was so excited that I misheard haha.
  19. Accepted with a bit of $. Call about half an hour ago. Decisions will be officially uploaded for admits over the weekend. Good luck!
  20. The Daniels guy said they're calling pearson fellows. I expect it'll go down the line of fellowships, then other admits.
  21. Theory: they are only calling those who get funding/certain schollys today.
  22. Did they give any indication that they are calling ALL acceptees today? And CONGRATS, what a day for you!
  23. Thank goodness. I am fine being in the running, especially after being terrified by the total cost.
  24. In from undergrad without money. Still really happy and likely going barring hks and wws.
