2019 Speech Pathology Graduate Applications
Toya replied to CajunSLP18's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Your stats are great. I am sure you will get accepted to over half of the schools you apply to! Make sure the schools are aware you're trilingual! -
I know this post is sort of old, but what did you decide?

That's helpful, thank you. Do you know any particular website I should go to?

Academic Update Verification
Toya replied to iowa999speechie's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Check your schools' policy as some schools only require the CSDCAS app to be received by the deadline while others require it to be verified. It's under CSDCAS FAQ. -
Hi everyone, I applied to 10 schools(!!) with Northern Arizona Summer track and USC part-time program being my top choices. Both programs require you to be on campus for 5-8 weeks in the summer. While I have not been accepted to either (yet ?) I am already worried about where will I stay. I am from CA, and a hotel will be ridiculously expensive and the same for an air bnb. As you can tell, I am lost but know there are people in the same situation as me. If ( or when) accepted where will everyone be staying during the summer?

2019 Speech Pathology Graduate Applications
Toya replied to CajunSLP18's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Our stats are similar. From California Applied/Applying to Biola, Cal Baptist, Loma Loma, University of the Pacific, Northern Arizona, ENMU, Nova, USC, NYU, and Emerson. Biggest fear? I am afraid my application will not be considered because of my cumulative GPA of 2.9 ( thanks CSDCAS ). I have over 3 years of experience as an SLPA so I am hoping they look at the whole picture. I feel my SOIs and LORs are great so if they look at the whole picture then maybe I'll get accepted to a school or two. -
2nd Bachelors to erase 1st bachelors
Toya replied to Ggslpa's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I would try to meet with an admission advisor at one of the schools you're applying to and ask their opinion. I think getting a second bachelors is too much. Have you considered getting a tutor for the GRE and trying to raise your score to 155+ or applying to less competitive schools? Most online programs are really competitive, perhaps a traditional school will be a better fit. -
Congrats! I am applying to Fall 2019.

emailing schools about lower GPA on CSDCAS

How long did it take CSDCAS to verify your transcripts? To see your GPA go to "check status" then download the application. -
emailing schools about lower GPA on CSDCAS
Toya replied to dSLP's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
You have to submit your first application in order for them to verify your application. "Verify" means calculate your GPA. My advice would be to take an easy class at a community college before you graduate to help with your cumulative GPA. -
Official vs Unofficial Transcripts
Toya replied to wishiwasbeyonce's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
@wishiwasbeyonce Hi! I would upload the official pdf transcripts because it will include all the information ( school's name, term year, etc.) the school will need. An "official" transcript is automatically considered "unofficial" when it is uploaded or hand carried by the student. Pretty much, if you can alter the transcripts in any way its considered unofficial. -
emailing schools about lower GPA on CSDCAS
Toya replied to dSLP's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
@dSLPI am in the same situation. Well, even worse because CSDCAS mixed in my ASL classes (from 10 years ago) with my COMD classes and my GPA in the field is 2.8! I don't know what to do. -
Recommendation Letter
Toya replied to hopefulfuturespeechie's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Hi, Go here and see if your program requires all materials including LOR to be completed by the due date. Hope this helps! https://help.liaisonedu.com/CSDCAS_Applicant_Help_Center/Starting_Your_CSDCAS_Application/Getting_Started_with_Your_CSDCAS_Application/04_Participating_Programs_and_Eligibility -
