  1. Thank you. I applied January 12th and was emailed 1/31.
  2. I was invited for an interview as well. They asked... Who do you admire and why? Tell me an error of improvement you would like to work on in grad school? Ugh, I can't remember the last one!
  3. I applied! I am also anxious to hear back. The program is on the"cheaper" end and allows flexibility between going FT and PT. However, I heard ( i think on here) that a few people had a hard time finding placements.
  4. Same here, I missed the GRE minimum but 1 point and applied Dec 14. When I went the info session they said still apply if you're under it.
  5. Hi, I applied to Biola as well, have you interviewed or received anything from them?
  6. I believe I am, as the program seems more feasible with my lifestyle (work) but I am still waiting to hear back from all the schools and see what my options are. What about you?
  7. I know that is what I thought as well but it is not a death sentence and I'm glad they looked at other areas.
  8. Thank you. My stats are not "competitive" as well. I read so many things from individuals getting in with a low GRE/GPA score and it gave me hope. I thought if they can do it, so can I. With that being said, my terrible scores are CumGpa 2.8, 3.5 in major. My GRE is less than 290! My SOI talked about all the experience I had and how I worked two jobs during my COMD courses (sort of explained that I worked over 45 hours a week and still had a 3.5). Prior to being an SLPA, I worked as a teacher's aid with deaf children for 5+ years. I am also fluent in ASL and had amazing LORs.
  9. Hi! I was accepted to NAU and I am so excited! It's my first acceptance and honestly, I didn't think I would get in due to my GPA and GRE score. Thank goodness they look at other areas as well. Has anyone else been accepted? If so, where are you from? I am from CA and have been an SLPA for almost three years.
  10. I work as an SLPA in a private practice in CA and was told by my supervisor ( and directors) that it doesn't matter what school you graduate from as long as you end up getting your CCC's. With this information, I will be attending the school that's more feasible with my life...part -time online.
  11. Haha, me too! When I saw NAU in the subject line of my email I assumed I was missing something lol.
  12. I am currently experiencing the same thing (only my official GPA is slightly less, 3.5). To broaden my chances of being accepted I first contacted CSDCAS and had them change the subject for several courses. For example, I saw they marked my Public Speaking course as an SLP course. However, once completed my COMD GPA is still 2.9. Unfortunately, I majored in American Sign Langauge over 10 years ago and failed numerous classes. CSDCAS calculated ASL and COMD classes together, so I am screwed with any school that uses CSDCAS. However, I also applied to 4 schools that do not use CSDCAS and out of those 4, I am interviewing at 2.
  13. Congrats on the interview. I applied to LLU as well
  14. Hi, Eastern New Mexico February 1st, the University of St. Augustine and Nova are due 4/1, Emerson and NYU have due dates ~ late Feb ( priority deadline for NYU is Feb 1. That's all I know.
  15. @JennWilhelm Oh no, how is it going now? Once accepted, ill be an SLPA in grad school.
  16. Oops sorry, It's Speech@emerson (online).
  17. Hi! Has anyone interviewed with Emerson college? If so, can you give me some pointers? Did you get in after the interview? Anything will help- my interview is next week. Thank you!
  18. Hi, I would say apply to more than one school if feasible. From my understanding, CSUN receives many applications so they are looking at "the best of the best", that's why I didn't apply there. I am, however, applying to 9 different schools this year and most are still online Good luck!
  19. I agree...also look at Loma Linda University, it's in CA and doesn't require the GRE!
  20. No, I was going to take acoustics again but I really hate acoustic and don't get the concept so I'm keeping my "B-" lol. I registered then quickly dropped the course.
  21. Hi, I am not a post-bacc but I know post-bacc is when you have a degree in any field other than speech-language ( or COMD). With that being said, you won't need to take classes as a "post-bacc" but I would suggest retaking classes that you received a "B-" or less it. Utah state college allows you to retake comd classes and you register as a non-degree seeking student. I checked on prices a while back and it was ~$900 per class.
  22. I am curious about this as well. I am applying to Emerson and NYU.
