congrats!!  I was wondering if the email you received was sent to a gmail, hotmail etc account or if you got access to the outlook email OSU has

I checked on the portal found I got accepted to OSU! I wasn't expecting much because I had been making changes to my SOP and writing sample until the last minute, so it's a pleasant surprise  

I like the idea of Interfolio, but I submitted my applications yesterday and there were already about four out of 12 schools that didn't accept Interfolio. I just feel that if my recommenders are taking the time to write my LOR, then they can take the time to upload each letter. It shouldn't be a hassle. I'm not sure $48 (even though I didn't have to pay for it because it was paid for as a gift) a year is worth it, if I'm just going to use it once (at least for now). Interfolio can maybe be more useful when applying to teaching positions, but I'll have to see when the time comes for that. 
Anyways, fingers crossed ? 

Update: So I emailed the office assistant, and they said that the prompt was changed a bit and that I should include it in addition to what I already have. I also emailed the program director just in case. I think I'm just going to adapt what I wrote for my personal statement on diversity to this.

Sorry for the delayed response, but thank you so much everyone. The ideas here really help me a lot, seriously. Thank you!!! I'm looking forward to this internal fun work haha

Hi, @pomegranateleaves! I hope you're well. So from reading their requirement, it seems that they want a writing sample that is closely related to your research. They said "a research project, or a class paper." So, IMO, that sounds like they want a sample that shows your research in action (a previous research paper, class paper, etc.)?
All in all, email the grad director for that program. They will answer any questions you have!

Also, I added a column for app date deadline, since I noticed that Northwestern's is a bit earlier compared to the others. Northwestern's deadline is usually early, but I think that's the first November deadline I've seen!

I wonder if it might be helpful to make a collectively edit-able spreadsheet, and then put that in a thread we can pin at the top of the forum...thoughts?
