  1. I would try anywhere that has petites....Reitman's, Sears, Cleo, etc. They'll likely have stuff small enough. Express also carries smaller sizes. You can always have it tailored afterward to properly fit you. Feel free to PM me if you need more ideas.
  2. This is part of why I didn't specify any dietary needs when they asked. They're so complicated that it's easier for me to eat what I can and supplement with my own snacks rather than make a fuss.
  3. You could always wear boots and bring a pair of flats with you, changing into the flats inside and putting the boots back on for outside. Definitely don't wear flats if there's snow on the ground. It's a good way to ruin a good pair of flats fast.
  4. I'm glad at least some of the Canadian schools are sending out invites this early!!
  5. The process really does vary by school. At some, it's the individual POIs who choose who they want to interview. At others, it's decided by the clinical committee.
  6. It kills me how long we have to wait to hear back from Canadian schools, especially when they had the same deadlines as some of the US schools that I've already gotten interview offers for.
  7. They look cute but sooooo pricey (especially in Canadian dollars). Sears, believe it or not, used to have cute charcoal grey suits in petite sizes (that were also machine washable), but they discontinued them. Still, if I still can't find anything I'll go pick up a black version of that same suit.
  8. To whoever posted the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) result, can you please PM me your POI?
  9. I might go the dress and blazer route for interviews (my standard conference presentation outfit), with a pair of comfy flats or heels, depending on walking. I'd wear a pantsuit but I'm petite and it's an ordeal trying to find one that fits my short limbs.
  10. I work for the government so generally it's a bit easier to do so. If this were my current job, I'd have no problem as my boss is one of my letter writers and I have flexible hours. However, this one is only a temporary contract, while the newer job is a bit more permanent (I didn't have high hopes for this application cycle when I accepted it obviously) and it would be my fallback option if I were rejected after interviews.
  11. Second interview at Southern Mississippi!! So another question....how should I go about accommodating all these interviews while working a full time job? I'll be starting a new job in January, and now I'm very stressed.
  12. Thank you! I'll have to check out Ann Taylor sometime in the next month or so. Express is also having a big sale this week so I may pick up something from there. I'll have to ask the grad student that will be getting in touch with me.
  13. So this is my first in-person interview (I've only ever done phone interviews before). What do people usually wear when interviewing and to the socials before/after? Would I need to wear a suit?
  14. Got an interview at Sam Houston State!!
  15. I tried to change it. Sadly, it's been too long since I posted it and the edit button has disappeared....
  16. I applied to Texas Tech counselling too! Who was your POI?
  17. I'm 26, and I've been out of undergrad for almost 5 years at this point. I hope I won't be too old by the time I finish my PhD!
  18. Yep! Sadly it won't be considered because I didn't submit the third party evaluation to prove that my degrees were equal to those found in the US lol. I didn't feel like forking out the $200+ when SHU was the only American school I applied for that actually required it.
  19. I research forensic psychology. I applied to anyone I could find doing risk assessment or psychopathy research, and to any programs that had specialty training in forensics.
  20. I didn't get any last year (which was surprising since I had a few the years before). I'm hoping now that I'm working in a clinical position I'll get at least one.
  21. And now the waiting game and anxiety begin........
  22. I don't think they do overnight if it's international, sadly. Luckily, the graduate office will except an emailed copy, so I'm relieved. I just need to spam him until it gets done.
  23. The school doesn't have an upload system for the reference letters. They literally wanted everything physically mailed to the school, and they won't consider applications where any of the parts arrive after December 1. I'm so frustrated and upset with this whole process. I basically just spent $100 for nothing at this point.
  24. I know I am....it sucks trying to work on applications while working full time...
  25. The deadline is almost upon us! How is everyone doing? I just found out that my supervisor/boss didn't mail off a reference letter that needed to arrive at the school by December 1 and I'm freaking out right now.
