  1. I believe you are right that they are requirements for certification. The clinical director at my school said some people still need to complete some of their ASHA requirements and obviously we are already enrolled in grad school.
  2. I am in a brand new program this year! I'm at the University of Delaware and so far everything that I have seen there in the first couple of days has really impressed me. I am actually glad that I chose to go to this program instead of my alma mater, where I was also accepted. I don't know much about Rocky Mountain, so I can't comment on it, but I will say that sometimes it's in your favor to apply to the new programs.
  3. Ultimately it is up to you if you want to spend the extra money. Personally, I would have done that had I known. It definitely would be a guaranteed spot in school and lessen the stress of applications.
  4. 1. I wrote a generic one and then altered it according to the school's prompt. Some turned out way differently then when they started. One school had a completely different prompt so I wrote a different SOP. 2. You can submit now if you are ready, but there's not really a benefit unless there is an early deadline or rolling admissions. The letters on CSDCAS just have to be in by the school's application deadline. Send GRE's as early as you can? I'm not sure. 3. I put all of my (non-related) work experience as well as my volunteer work that was more in nursing than speech path. It can't really hurt. Just my opinions.
  5. I emailed all of mine when I asked for my letters. They didn't seem to mind.
  6. @imunster If you can afford it, I recommend paying for their transcript services. It made my life a whole lot easier last year when I was applying, and you have less of a chance of it getting undeliverable.
  7. I received a $20,000 scholarship from the University of Delaware where I will be attending. I graduated with a 3.82 GPA overall, 3.8 CSD GPA, and 155 V, 151 Q, 3.5 AW for my GRE.
  8. NewER programs that I know of besides Delaware: Yeshiva, Stockton University, and Salus University
  9. Don't worry so much! I convinced myself so badly that I wasn't going to get in anywhere that I felt nauseous for 3 months. I ended up getting into one school outright, and into two off of their waitlists. It's not worth making yourself sick over.
  10. West Chester University offers it online. I went there for undergrad and took it in person and I really like the professor who teaches it. SPP 106
  11. Honestly, even though it is more money, I would go to the school you love. You might resent going to USF later on if you end up not loving it. SLPs make decent money, so I'm sure you will be able to pay back the extra.
  12. I'm looking at my sequence of courses for fall and I have 12 credits, but it won't be the same everywhere.
  13. For those who got accepted, join the group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1098659060185112/
  14. CSDCAS takes all of your grades from all the colleges you have attended to form one single GPA. For example, my GPA at my four year was like 3.79, but since I had two classes from comm. college that I got As in, my CSDCAS GPA ended up being like 3.82.
  15. I second this, even though I volunteer. I volunteer in a cancer center which I talked about more on my application to UDel than on my other apps and got accepted.
  16. Yes. I got accepted. Just give them a couple days before you freak out because they literally just got their Candidacy.
  17. If they have candidacy status and you go through the program then you are not penalized and are still able to get your CCCs, even if they end up not receiving accreditation later on.
  18. I applied there too and I don't remember it ever saying that anywhere.
  19. Same! I got wait-listed and I'm excited because it's the first school I've heard from.
  20. "people below the average" Yes, exactly. There will always be people above and below the average because that is exactly what an average is.
  21. I have heard from nowhere yet. No acceptances, rejections, or waitlists! So disappointing and anxiety inducing.
  22. I know, it's weird because one of my friends who applied has the same thing on there, yet another one who applied doesn't. So strange!
  23. Oops, I missed it, sorry I thought I had already read the whole thread so I just posted lol
