plex091 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I'm losing hope, and thinking about next year. Does anyone know anything about The Wright Institute clinical PsyD program?

Does anyone know anything about The Wright Institute clinical PsyD program? I got an interview invite today. I know that some admitted students last year deferred, so there may be some cohort slots already filled before this year’s applicants even interview. I don’t know how many slots are filled, and don’t know if the number of interviews reflects that.
hello_psych Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hello people who applied to CCNY (CUNY)! Did anyone figure out what was the deal with CUNY's application system this year? Someone on the results page had posted there were some issues with applications (unclear as to what that was exactly). And another person had posted that CUNY sent their rejection letter to an email ID they had not provided the school with, so basically security concerns. It also seems like some people received rejection letters from CCNY but I have neither received an interview invite or a rejection notification. So, what exactly is the deal here? Should I assume rejection? Note that I had reached out to their admissions to ask when I can expect to hear back but they never replied.

For those of you who received an interview invitation from George Mason, did anyone get a Starbucks gift package from them? They had previously asked me what my beverage preference is, and today I received this Starbucks gift package with two kinds of coffee, cookies, and a mug. None of my friends sent it, so I'm just wondering if it could be from GM given that they asked me if I prefer coffee, tea or hot chocolate If it's indeed from them, what a sweet gesture! Yes, me too! I also asked all of my friends if they sent me a surprise package, but then I figured out it must have been George Mason. The funniest part was that mine had a card in it which said "besties" ? Mine too! A blank greeting card with two birds kissing each other and "besties" on top. I texted my best friend a picture of the box with "Thank you so much, made my day! Love youuuu". She texted back "I love you too, but this is not from me". LOL Edited February 7, 2021 by Maybe2021 forensicpsychstu, tallgradstudent and WaitingImpatiently2 3
absolutelynott Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hi, to anyone who is doing the Fairleigh Dickinson interview today, would you mind sharing what the structure of the interview day was? I.e., how many interviews, who you interviewed with (not names but just like faculty vs. students, was it your POI), individual vs. group?
dressedtoimpress Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hello, has anyone heard back from the University of Arizona yet? Either rejections or interviews?
EileanDonan Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 At what point after interviews are over is it appropriate to reach out to a POI with whom you had a prelim (but not formal interview) to inquire for feedback? Also, if anyone has any helpful email templates for this sort of inquiry and would be willing to share, it would be muchly appreciated... PsychologyCat and Sikedout 2
Yikesimstressed Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 After interviewing, besides the person an offer was extended to, is it common for everyone else to be waitlisted? Or will they only waitlist their top few and send rejections to the others? I was just waitlisted at a school and was curious! Sikedout, clinpsychapps, higaisha and 1 other 4
C.Des Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Does anybody know any grad students currently attending the Wright Institute? I am curious to hear their perspective on the program. plex091 1
gradschoolgoals Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Anyone know about the funding situation at University of North Texas for the Clinical Psych PhD? I’m not seeing much on their program website.

I think their application deadline was about 2 weeks ago and I haven't seen anyone post about interview invites. Is this real? Or did I miss something: ? hi! are you sure you saw a clinical acceptance? because I posted about my acceptance in counseling phd (yay) and i'm just making sure it didn't get miscommunicated.

Wait at least four weeks following interviews to contact your potential POI for a status update. However, if you need to know sooner due to a pending offer, you can contact them sooner. This is how I would write the inquiry email – feel free to customize the following as you see fit: Email subject line: “Eilean Donan - Request for Application Update”: “Dear Dr. X, I hope this message finds you well during this busy season. I remain excited about the prospect of continuing my training under your mentorship. If possible, can you provide an estimated date by which I can expect a decision made about my application? I greatly appreciate your time and consideration. Please let me know if I can provide any further information as well. Best Regards, Eilean Donan” EileanDonan and sunflowergirl97 2

So that makes me believe there are still slots available for 2/22/2021 interview dates Best of luck on your applications! HopefullyAccepted 1
ohno88 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 If the person who gave up their spot for Georgia Southern this morning sees this, could you please DM me or reply to this? I’m trying to find out if all of the acceptance calls have already gone out (or if anyone else knows!).
DigitalBuddha Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Hello All! I can pretty much guarantee there are some wonderful templates for "thank you" emails in this thread, but I have zero capacity at the moment to sift through. I would be so appreciative if one of you could post or DM me one you might have. Thank you so much and I appreciate the effort immensely.

barringpark081 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Has everyone heard back from PGSP-Stanford's PsyD program for interviews? I am seeing mixed updates on the results page and haven't yet heard back from them.

You should be receiving an email soon for your Friday interview with a schedule and links to Zoom and other information. You have two individual interviews and both are with a faculty member and a current student. Since this is a generalist program (you match with the school not a specfic faculty member or lab), they do not deliberately match you with POIs, but you may get lucky and get one of them as an interviewer anyway! If you are not being interviewed you are in in a Q&A with current students and after all interviews are completed you have some time to join faculty members' breakout rooms to hear more about their research! absolutelynott 1
sanna927 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Hello! For those who have had interviews at clinical psychology programs--do you send thank-you emails to all of the people you interviewed with or just the PI and grad students in the lab you applied for?
missmusical Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 congrats to the ohio university poster! would you mind DM'ing your POI's initials?
