If this is the case, and your POI has "recommended you for acceptance" to the university, is this like an unofficial offer before receiving the actual offer? Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to everyone else I think faculty generally submit their recommendations to an admissions committee or to the university, who then review candidates to make sure they meet the program's requirements like GPA, GRE scores, etc. The department also might still be establishing which profs have priority for accepting students, and in that case, the committee will determine which recommended students will receive offers. So it isn't an unofficial acceptance, but definitely promising!

Do you know of anyone who got an invite for adult clinical I feel like someone on here got one from adult. But I am not sure

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to everyone else The unofficial offer is usually not made by the POI before the psych graduate committee has met and made their picks. Personally, I was contacted by the Psychology Chair about my acceptance, meaning that the committee had already met and sent their picks to the graduate dean, who's the only one allowed to make an official offer. At least that's what I know Edited February 8, 2017 by Neposydko

Thanks! It's for both - Both clinical areas do a combined Open House with general content related to doing clinical psychology at York, and then more breakout sessions for C and CD depending on which area you applied to. Hmm if you've heard back from your POI already that's surprising that they didn't tell you about the Open House...usually they invite students that they would like to meet further on that day. Perhaps contact your POI to ask them?
