  1. Thanks for all the info! Have you decide to attend NAU? I am interested in applying there if I don’t get in to grad school the first time. Although, I would have to attend Loma Linda and get my SLPA license first. NAU is more affordable than Emerson from what I understand. I hope you love their program!
  2. ooh, that's a lot to retake! Do they have same policy for ASHA pre reqs? If so, I will def have to retake all of those.
  3. Thanks! So... as long as we already have taken our pre reqs it's around 67k? Still pricy, but not as bad as NOVA or NYU. Oops, just noticed that you said they made you retake some pre reqs. Is there a reason why? I paid for a 2nd BA and it would suck to have to pay them to take pre reqs... again.
  4. ENMU w/Dr. Hall, easy A! Around $700-$800
  5. BUMP. How much is the tuition at Emerson? I'm thinking of applying there.
  6. That's awesome news! How many programs did you apply to?
  7. Thanks for the info! CSUN only accepts one cohort a year, correct? Sadly, I might have to wait!
  8. Thinking about applying to CSUN but it seems like they want you to have all pre reqs completed by June? Do they accept applications from people who are "in progress" but will complete everything by the time the Spring semester begins? I wont finish my BA until the end of the Summer. Has anyone taken the MAT? Is it more difficult than the GRE?
  9. Thanks for talking about your experiences. Biola is only 5 minutes away from me but there's no way I would feel comfortable applying to a school that would force me to say "Jesus is G-d". Which is unfortunate since it's so close to me and I grew up in the area my entire life.
  10. Do Christian-based programs want to know about your faith? Would a person who is agnostic/atheist looked down upon or would they just be "in the closet" so to speak. I apologize if this is an ignorant question but I've always wondered.
  11. Thanks for all the helpful info! Your signature states that you applied to 4 online programs...what were the other programs you applied to? That's awesome that you were accepted into all 4. If you don't mind dropping your stats...I would really love to know!
  12. Can you still be accepted if your ASHA required courses are over 10+ old? I would hate to have to redo all those requirements.
  13. It's been hard to find an online university that offers Fluency. You should see if they accept SPA 4250 Introduction to Speech Disorders at University of Southern Florida. Here is the description: This course will provide an overview of the mechanisms involved in speech production, and will review the nature and impact of speech sound disorders, fluency disorders, voice and resonance disorders, and organic speech disorders. Artic and language disorders are offered at ENMU for a reasonable price. They were both doable courses.
  14. How much is the tuition for NYU?
  15. ENMU I am currently taking this course but it just started. People say it's not very difficult.
  16. You have to go through admission and apply to the 2nd BA program. FYI in order for me to qualify for Financial Aid I had to switch to the grad leveling program but depending on how many credits you have from your 1st degree you may qualify. I plan on switching to the 2nd BA in the summer.
  17. I already am. After this semester I only have one class left.
  18. I am going the 2nd BA route because of my low GPA from my first degree too. I know people think it's a waste of time and money. I think it's the best option for me because I can prove that I changed and am able to maintain a high GPA in the field of Communicative Disorders. I am also attending the program at ENMU if you have any questions about classes. Will I get into grad school? Honestly, I know my chances are slim because no matter how many As I get I still won't have a competitive GPA.
  19. Plan B: SLPA or ABA Therapy
  20. I was considering Redlands but as you said they are very expensive! I am only applying to distance programs because I have a family and can't uproot my entire life for grad school. The programs I can apply to are limited. Since I have very average stats I wasn't sure if applying to LA/OC CSUs would be a waste of money. Do universities accept students to do research who aren't current students? I'm completing my 2nd BA online.
  21. I have the same question. It's difficult to find any info about this program.
  22. Taking Neuro of Comm @ ENMU right now and the instructor is extremely helpful. We have a quiz every week but she gives us the questions that are on every quiz in advance. I haven't taken the first exam yet. I'm not sure how difficult it will be. Also, I couldn't imagine taking neuro in 8 weeks (summer).
  23. Are there any SoCal schools that aren't insanely competitive? I don't think I'm going to apply to any even though it's my home because I doubt my stats are competitive enough.
  24. I've been worried that I might have trouble getting LOR from ENMU professors. I've had people say that a few won't write LORs for online students. Do you have any advice on connecting with professors there? Which ones wrote you LORs? I feel like many of them take a few days to respond to email which makes it difficult to carry conversation when it takes forever to reply back and forth.
  25. I know! How can I become a social media influencer? haha. I attempted to start a youtube for speechies but I just don't know what kind of content to make. It's hard.
