  1. I got the email today.
  2. I never got that forwarded on for final review email from CSULB. I just resolved a transcript issue on their end last week or the week before so my status got updated to the verifying my transcripts stage. I wonder if I should check in with them at this point about getting it to the grad committee - getting nervous.
  3. I wouldn't take the lack of reply as a bad sign. Coming from the workforce, I've sent a fair amount of interview thank you's and think only once I received a reply, yet I was offered most of those jobs. I think interviewers just don't want to potentially open a can of words or give the wrong idea by replying.
  4. Wow -- In class 2 weeks after giving birth really is super-human! I've applied to a few CSU's and CA private schools as well as a couple out of state. I have an interview with Cal Baptist coming up. I applied to Chapman and haven't been invited for an interview so I'm thinking I probably won't be hearing from them at this point.
  5. Oops! I forgot to quote you above!
  6. Congrats on the interview with Chapman! Becoming a SLPA is my plan B as well. I think it would be a really good experience. That’s super cool your family is so supportive so you can go to school. CSD students who are parents are my heroes - I don’t know how you guys do it all!
  7. I would think your in the clear if they said you can. Congrats on your acceptance!
  8. I highly reccommend emailing them a simple thank you. In the workforce it’s a must so I can’t imagine it’s a bad thing in the grad realm. ? Good luck!
  9. Same! I imagine we'll get it next week.
  10. I also had screwy stuff happen with my transcripts and would definetly reccomend checking your application status. Find the email they sent out acknowledging your application status. It should have some sort of self service application status check link. Follow the instructions and it will send you an email with your status. If it says your transcripts were received and will be sent to the departmemt, you’re good. If it says things are still missing I would call their enrollment office ASAP. I’ve found they’re very helpful. Stressing about those transcripts is so frustrating! Been there! Just curious, where have you heard about prople getting CSULB interviews? I haven’t heard a peep on here. I’ve heard nothing from CSULA, either.
  11. The thing that was asked about on apps so many times that I didn't have was research experience. I would try to connect with your former professors and see if there's anyway to get involved as an alum. I would also recommend trying to shadow a medical SLP at a nursing home or hospital. Even if you don't want to go the medical route, it shows you've been exposed to the field more broadly and who knows? - maybe you'll like it!
  12. Totally agree. I can't even wrap my head around how much grad apps cost me. I will say though, I got lucky and 4 of the 6 CSDCAS schools I applied to required nothing in addition to the CSDCAS app.
  13. According to EdFind, all three of those schools accept slightly lower GRE scores (<300 average) and their GPA ranges are from 3.0 or 3.1 to 3.9 or 4.0. Your well with in those GPA ranges so you probably have a decent shot. Being bilingual seems like a big plus. I know where you're coming from though. I'm trying not to worry until I see the school show up on the results page though! Good luck to you!
  14. That’s a good question and I have no idea. ? But you could shadow SLPs in your area instead. Try contacting your local hospitals. I did that and was very surprised it worked! Private clinics might be another place to try. That’s a tough position to be in when you can’t relocate.
  15. They’re all pretty competetive, but Cal Baptist, Chapman, Loma Linda, and Redlands all have between 25-30ish % acceptance rates which is about as good as it gets. Not sure about Biola. Those are all private and cost nearly twice as much as Cal States. You’re definitely smart to think out of state. I applied to a couple out of state that had really cool programs and better acceptance rates. If you still have time, getting involved in research can really make you stand out. Good luck!
  16. Congrats! Mine is in the afternoon and I'm doing the tour.
  17. Agreed, I just thought it was strange they jumped from 350 to 600+ this year. It's already competitive enough lol. Based on what I read on here from last year there doesn't seem to be an interview portion, but it's hard to say.
  18. On the 1st! It'll be my first grad school interview so I'm nervous!
  19. Congrats on those 2 interviews! I applied to 9 schools and just got my first interview today, so you're definitely not falling behind! I'm with you on the insecurity -- it's so easy to fall into. Do you mind me asking where you applied, or even which state(s)?
  20. Just saw the email from CSUF saying they have 600 applications to go through and will have an invite-only open house on 3/22. Has anyone else noticed schools receiving way more apps than they did last year as reported on edFind? Noticed the same thing for Chapman.
  21. I heard back this afternoon, too! Good luck!
  22. Looks like CBU is starting to send out invites. ?
  23. I also applied to PSU. Last year they sent out their first round of acceptances around Mar 9th so we still have nearly 3 weeks to go. ? The 9 schools I applied to all sent out acceptances in March last year so I'm super jealous of all the east coast and midwest applicants finding out right now. lol.
