Texas schools?!?!!
Rezzy S. replied to peachie_speechie10's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I’ve been waiting to hear from UT Austin also! Their website says they like to notify right before Spring break which unfortunately isn’t until 3/16 for them this year ?. Which school is your top pick? -
Congratulations on the interviews. Which school's have you interviewed with?

Good luck to you! You may find more up to date info for your program in the psychology forum: https://forum.thegradcafe.com/forum/8-psychology/. I imagine you'll hear back at a different time than speech-language pathology applicants.- 22 replies

What is your CSD GPA? Are you willing to move? -
Your stats look pretty good, but I know it is hard when you have to narrow it to so few schools because life demands it. Have you checked your stats against ASHA edFInd? Your 4.0 CSD GPA definitely should stand out! Good luck!

Is anyone else feeling like this right now...?
Rezzy S. replied to pugzrule4eva's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Beautiful ? -
Not a bad interview at all. For those going tomorrow, be able to explain why SLP, why CBU, and some particular things you are drawn to in the field. The faculty/staff were all so nice and courteous. There were at least 14 or so people there interviewing during my time bracket alone so it sounds like a lot of people are being interviewed.

Me too and I’m so nervous! Good luck!

Does anyone know anything about what questions they will ask? I was trying to find a post from previous years and haven’t had any luck.
-
I'm sorry to hear you didn't ? but I'm glad to hear it's only a backup for you. What are some of your top choice schools? I did get an interview, we'll see how it goes... definitely nervous!

Every day I have to convince myself to not call for an update. It feels like SoCal schools are the very last schools to announce. ?

I don’t think I have a chance. Someone reassure me

Yes! Keep the CSD GPA up and get your overall up to a 3.5 like you mentioned. Shadow SLPs, get involved with NSSLHA and research, and get to know your professors so they can write you good letters. Study hard for your GRE as well and clear 150 for each quant and verbal and 4.0 for writing. When its finally time to apply, use the stats on ASHA Edfind to see where you have a good shot of getting in. You got this! -
Congrats to everyone accepted!!

I create artificial deadlines. Like if I don’t here from X by tuesday I’ll call them, but then tuesday comes and I say well, I bet they’ll email me by Friday. Haha I’m with you!
-
Thanks! I'll try to keep my hopes up then. ☺️

Last year PSU announced admission decisions in early March, so I’m getting anxious to hear! I’m an out of state applicant. I loved the city and their campus, but was most impressed by their emphasis on medical. I’m curious to hear why others applied here. Also would love to know if anyone has heard anything from them yet.

I thought about applying there but ended up not because they weren't quite in the region I wanted and, being the highest ranked school in CA, I didn't think I'd get in anyway. I've noticed all of the programs I applied to have been announcing things between 1 to 3 weeks later than last year and a lot of them have received a lot more applications than last year so I wonder if that's the same situation for SDSU. Good luck to you!
