Nope ?

I’ve assumed its the end. I know in the past they’ve invited a lot of people (plenty to fill the waitlist) and take forever to reject the rest.

I would guess everyone because I didn’t express those interests on my application. -

It’s through the federal government and the application was linked in the acceptance email. -
Anyone accept their admission offer yet? Still waiting to hear back from a couple schools before I can make a decision.

Right, no interviews. What a bummer. I was really counting on this being the week. ? Thanks for the update though!

how important is visiting?
Rezzy S. replied to cantmakedecisionsslp's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I've been wondering the same thing. I am waiting on 2 more schools, but if I get into neither of those, I'll be deciding between a local school and one 1,500 miles away. I think I want to go visit, but it's expensive regardless of whether I drive or fly. I guess I would recommend you go see it. How many times in life do we have so many open doors that will take us down such different paths (sure, its all SLP, but different professors, friends, cities, opportunities, etc.). Why close off a door prematurely? Sorry I know that is absurdly whimsical and I'm usually all about the practical side of things, but there you go. ? -
Last year it looks like there was a one week delay between acceptances and waitlist emails.

I haven't heard of it. Where did you learn about it? -
I haven't heard from any graduate programs.

Yes, there is an honor system most graduate programs have agreed to to inform students by April 15.- 12 replies

Sorry, you're right -- I meant no one has heard decisions. I didn't get an interview ? Two acceptances and one waitlist so far. Expecting 3 rejections for sure though.- 12 replies

Have you seen others post waitlist or rejection decisions? If it was me I'd probably wait until I saw those before I reached out. Who knows, maybe you're near the top of the waitlist. Hoping the best for you!
-
I'm sorry that happened to you! ? Biola came off really dogmatic to me which is why I didn't apply there, but I guess it's good they're upfront about it.

You’ll have better luck posting in the speech-language pathology forum. Here’s a topic from that forum where you can ask your question: -
"Cheaper" out of state tuition in the western states
Rezzy S. replied to Jess3863's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
There are definitely some CA schools that do this but not all, so check their websites closely or call /email to find out. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get an interview to one CSU because my overall GPA was under 3.8, despite a 4.0 CSD. -
I think rankings are helpful if you are interested in research and learning from those doing the cutting edge research (which is no small thing). However, in California, our highest ranked program is 23 with most well over 100, but most of the programs I’ve seen are excellent, there just isn’t the funding to do research and have top notch facilities. The programs, especially state schools, are extremely committed to evidence-based practive and making you a well-rounded, prepared professional. Plus there are amazing externships at great hospitals etc. because of the large population. My point is, I really do think it comes down to research as to how a school is ranked.

This aligns with what I've heard from quite a few SLPs as well. I know that we have a big shortage of SLPs so it opens a lot of options. I think our field particularly bends the rules of better university, better earning potential because of this shortage. Plus, as you said, the average person is probably not all that interested in the US News rankings. I think what can get you ahead in the job market is great externships/experience, interviewing well, and being good at networking.

I would highlight your experience and maybe include something that makes you unique that could make for memorable small talk, like you're the youngest of 9 children or something fun like that.

Are you near the top of the waitlist? On Edfind it says they made 51 admission offers for 24 spots last year, so you probably have a good shot at getting in!
