I interviewed at Fordham last year and the majority (if not all) of us were in formal interview attire, meaning pantsuit or appropriate skirt/blazer combo. In general, I like to air to the side of caution and be more formal. It was cold when I interviewed, but I wore flats because I didn't really have any boots that would look nice with my formal outfit. I hope this helps! As other people said, there are a number of factors that might be contributing to the conflicting reports, but try and see what people in Psychology are saying because other fields might be more causal.

For Clinical Psych, most of my interview days were on Fridays, although I did have one that provided a Monday option as well. Also in terms of planning, my earliest one was late January and the latest one was mid-Feb, though I've known of some schools having interviews into March. Most tend to be on the same couple of weekends in February. Hope this helps!

Hi @Steph93, I totally understand that because that was my worry as well. I hope this helps somewhat! GPA: 3.75 GRE: 157V, 156Q, 4.5 Research experience: I had about 3 semesters of research experience between two labs in undergrad and then had a 2 year lab manager position after graduation.

My advice would be to narrow down your list a bit. While it's fine when your first looking around to have a bigger list like you do now, you'll definitely want to cut it down come application time. This will save you on money and stress/time. Really think hard about each school and if you were accepted, would you actually attend? I started with around 15 schools, then narrowed down to 12 when I started my applications. After doing some soul searching while writing my SOPs I realized that 2 of the schools didn't really have what I wanted, so I never finished or submitted those applications. I wound up with 10 but I think I could've cut it down 1 more. The process is so expensive and time consuming, so keep that in mind!

I also think there's a couple of fake posters on there. For instance, with North Texas I received my acceptance from the POI and DCT two weeks ago but I've seen a lot today. That could just be the POIs individually notifying people at different times but it seemed fishy to me

I wanted to revive this thread! I'll be attending LSU in the fall for the Clinical Psych PhD program. I wanted to know how/when people went about looking for apartments, also wanted to see who else was attending in the fall?

I just heard from my POI last night about being an alternate. I haven't seen any other posts about it so I think each PI is doing it indivudally.

I got sick twice in 3 weeks because of traveling :/ it's hard jumping back into work after all of this but I'm definitely trying to take time to relax when I can.

Preach! Even as an extrovert, this is pushing my limits of socializing haha. I'm excited to get this last interview out of the way this weekend and enjoy a celebratory glass of wine.

I'd advise to be prepared with a lot of questions! This sounds obvious but my interview with my POI was just him wanting me to ask questions. By that time after the grad student social and the intro presentation, most of my questions were answered so I was trying to come up with things on the spot.

Wow I'm so sorry, that's harsh! I know schools prefer in person interviews but they should at least be understanding if that's not possible.
