  1. I would also consider what you want to do in your future career. If you want to work in a school, will either school (or both) provide the necessary requirements for you to get your teaching certification? I mention this because I ran across this problem with one of the schools I was accepted to. Since I'm not 100% sure where I want to work, I wanted a program that would provide me the education to either work with adults or children. Depending on your state, you may want to look into those requirements. But if you don't want to work with children (or in a school) you don't have to consider it.
  2. I wouldn't worry yet, it's possible they send them alphabetically considering my last name starts with an A.
  3. To clarify, I was waitlisted to their in person program.
  4. I found out I was waitlisted at Eau Claire last week.
  5. I didn't even realize there was a portal but I just checked my archived email and logged in. Mine says the same thing with the decision date of 3/1. I'm assuming that it means they've made a decision today and will start notifying us within the next few days....
  6. I would definitely discuss this with your admissions counselor! From what I heard schools will not hold your spot if you don't pay by the deadline. However, if you're in touch with admissions they could work something out with you.
  7. I know NYU Steinhardt does rolling admissions so it's possible the campus one does as well.
  8. If you've seen people accepted you're probably on an unofficial waitlist. I personally think you should email and ask, the school has no reason to not be transparent!
  9. Awesome! Do you know if they set up a FB page for us or if we should be doing that?
  10. Have you seen people posting results on the admissions page? I don't think there's anything wrong with emailing the school and inquiring about when they will make admission decisions. I've heard of several other people on these pages doing that.
  11. I also heard back from NYU (Steinhardt) but I'm planning on declining.
  12. Thanks! It doesn't look like they've contacted anyone with feb interviews yet (at least I haven't seen). Are you going to be attending? I was really impressed with their program!
  13. I have not heard anything from William Paterson, but I've already been accepted to a school in my state (NY) so either way I will not be attending.
  14. Hi All! I just received acceptance to the College of Saint Rose and will definitely be attending. I was so impressed with their program and clinical opportunities and I know I want to attend. Is anyone else going? I'd love to start connecting with people who will be attending!
  15. I think you have a great chance! My under grad GPA (not in speech) was about a 3.0 since I was younger and didn't really know what I wanted to do. I've since completed a post bacc with a 3.91 GPA and have received several interviews and one acceptance so far. I think schools definitely look at your CSD GPA along with what you do with your time outside of school (working in the field, volunteering, etc). You definitely have a great shot! I'd also like to add that I had average GRE scores but have been volunteering in the field since June.
  16. I received this as well! I was surprised by how quickly they want us to sign up and take the test. Also, we have to pay $15 to do it. I think they're behind schedule compared to last year. It seems like they will be conducting interviews around the time other schools will be sending out their acceptances.
  17. Hmm I haven't heard from them at all except when they confirmed my application was complete. I wonder if any undergrad or post-bacc students at New Paltz know what's going on?
  18. Anyone know when we will hear from SUNY New Paltz? This time last year they were already conducting interviews...
  19. I'm a career changer and a tad bit older than other applicants. Did you take a post-bacc program or any pre-reqs? I also applied to William Paterson and Seton Hall in NJ. Good luck!
  20. Congrats on getting an interview (I responded to your post about the questions on another thread)! My GRE scores were 151V/149Q/4W. The writing sample was very odd, if I remember correctly it was on an adult disorder and asked to describe a specific treatment and how you know it's working. Even though I've taken CSD classes, I did not learn enough about that particular disorder to provide an adequate answer in 15 minutes.
  21. Once you register the questions will be at the bottom of your registration confirmation. Let me know if you can't find and I will PM them to you!
  22. There is a writing component for the Chapman interview (which I thought was challenging). However, the interview portion was pretty smooth, they give you a list of questions they're going to ask so that helps big time.
  23. I interviewed here last week. It was much more relaxed then I was expecting and the group part was not intimidating at all. They have you go around and answer the questions one at a time so everyone isn't speaking over each other. The meeting with two professors (one at a time) was very relaxed as well. They were really friendly and seemed like they just want to get to know you. You have nothing to be nervous about!
