Mine said that when I logged in, but then I had to click to open to application. I was an alternate for two schools, and they ultimately got more funding, so I received CGSM CIHR the summer before I started at my current program. There is always hope! It doesn't guarantee you funding but it ultimately doesn't mean you were "rejected". You will receive an email of a status change if your status changes. Best of luck! A slight glimmer of hope I'm in the same boat! I'm taking it as a good sign that out of however many applications they reviewed ours were competitive enough to be in the running. The other half of me thinks if I was waitlisted into a PhD program but ultimately didn't make it, I wouldn't put that on my cv... So I'm not sure! Literally my exact thoughts. I'm super thrilled because so far it's been nothing but rejections, "no's", and bad news, so I am absolutely over the moon that one school at least waitlisted me for SSHRC and thought my proposal was strong LOL. I think this would be more equivalent to the conference award situation than the program though, because CGSM is an award! So maybe it would be acceptable, especially early on in your research career they always say the rich get richer, so perhaps mentioning you were on an alternate list for CGSM would make you more favourable for future CGSMs in the future emsmith 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I already accepted an offer of admission to a school that I unfortunately did not list in my CGS-M application, so I will not be circling back to the alternate status school. If anyone has any info on whether alternate status has any use for CV/future CGS-M purposes that would be great.
