Hey so I just graduated last year from law/justice studies with a minor in health & aging at Mac. I had only 2 related paid experiences since 2018 (counselling related) and a handful of short term volunteering experiences over the course of undergrad (2016-2020), I founded a cultural club at Mac, and I have 1+ years of grassroots community work. Only about 2000 hours total. I was very confident in my written application though, personally I think that was stronger than my resume. Also, my final year GPA was a 3.98. Not sure but the decisions are going out now so shouldn’t be long! Goodluck guys! Once this shock goes down, I will write out my experience and everything out for you guys! I want to provide some important insight. i have applied for UofT’s 2 year MSW for entry into 2019, 2020 and now 2021. 2019 I was waitlisted, 2020 I was accepted, I declined and decided to do something else, and 2021, I have yet to acquire an acceptance so I am thinking I have either been waitlisted or rejected. im posting this to remind everyone who gets waitlisted/rejected to be kind to yourself and not internalize whatever the outcome is as your fault. There are so many variables at place, including competition, a limited spots because people were able to defer last years acceptance, etc. just keep trying. Every year is different.
