Has anyone interviewed at Johns Hopkins PhD in Epi program? I just received an invitation ? #finally

If you have interviewed, how did it go?

Congrats! When’s your interview? Mine is next week (not Epi).

I interviewed with Johns Hopkins IH folks last week and received an interview request from Dartmouth today.

Hey! Do you mind sharing which JHU IH concentration you interviewed for?

Thank you. It’s actually tomorrow. The email I received was rather urgent. They said they have to interview all epi candidates by the end of this week.

Whew! Goodness. How are you feeling? I'm sending you ALL THE LUCK right now. Is JHU at the top of your list?

Hey guys! Thanks for sharing all your updates. I interviewed with Johns Hopkins IH folks last week and received an interview request from Dartmouth today. No updates from Harvard PHS (Global health), UNC, Stanford, Columbia and Berkeley. I emailed Harvard admissions as well as the global health dept and they were vague in their responses - same as what someone posted earlier. They said that interviews are not necessary and only conducted if they need more information than what was in the application. Has anyone else applied to Harvard PHS - global health track and been invited to interview? Fingers crossed!

Hi! So far I’ve interviewed for the Harvard PHS global health track and have interviews scheduled for Stanford Health Policy next week. I received my rejection from Berkeley yesterday.

This is just my opinion but I would say a MSc in Statistics is very relevant for many tracks within the Public Health field. I think if you can tailor more of your projects / research / thesis to public health topics then you'd be able to make an easier argument about your abilities to apply statistical methods to the field of PH. I would spend more energy on that and developing a strong SOP and research statement for PhD programs than getting a MPH in the US.

100% agree with this. Any statistics-related field will give you skills that you can apply to virtually any area of research work.

Thank you very much:) I'll work hard.

Just got my interview schedule from JHU (PFRH) and...I'm shook ya'll. I can just tell that it's going to be intense!

This is how I felt last week when they sent me mine! I was shook ? But the interview was VERY laid back. You got this!

Hi, I did the first round couple weeks ago, i am still anxiously waiting...I hope they didn't send out all the invitations yet...

They could be sending invitations out in batches, or based on domestic/international student status. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Applied to Harvard PhD in Health Policy Econ concentration. Haven't heard anything back since December ?

Hi are you by any chance an MD from Indonesia? I’m an international student as well currently doing my MPH. Mind sharing your stats? I applied to the Econ track as well.

Congrats! And all the best to the interview! I'm wondering whether "all epi candidates" means one track or all tracks of epi in JHU...

Also received a rejection last night from Univ. of Washing. PhD in Epidemiology. Though I realized I may have made a big mistake b/c I can't recall if their department had tracks, and I would have applied to the ID EPI track but my application says General Track ?

Anywho, 2/4 rejections. The other 2 are radio silent. ?

I received invitations to interview for Harvard Health Policy (Decision Science) and Stanford Health Policy (Decision Science) on Monday/Tuesday, so I don't think it's particularly late in the cycle yet.

Congrats! Would you mind sharing your stats? Thanks!!

Has anyone heard back from UCLA's PhD in Community Health Sciences program? Thanks!

I have the same question. Been waiting on UCLA for a while.
