linnbear 9 Posted February 13, 2018 Anyone apply Pharmacoepi for UNC? It seems like decisions for the Epi department are starting to come out. I was told they'd be done notifying applicants by beginning of March.

CatDog1122 0 Posted February 13, 2018 Anyone accepted/considering UT Houston? I got my acceptance today but was interested in chatting about other people’s experiences with the acceptance process. Did people have interviews? Did anyone receive funding? They say you have to commit before they’ll tell you about funding, which seems fishy. Anyone know if they’re typically able to provide funding to most students?

Hi, I got accepted there and like you I am very confused and disheartened by their communication and funding options. I actually accepted just so I could learn about funding, but the answers was "you will learn more about funding during orientation." Feel free to PM me to discuss further! I was also told that GA/TAs for incoming students are very limited as faculty want to work with established students. UNC was my first choice and I haven't heard anything. I'm assuming it' a no go for me. Just check the email and find I'm admitted into Brown EPI PhD Program! Five years full funding + health insurance + etc.! So excited! 9 MarylandGirl, ianmleavitt, DrPHtobe and 6 others reacted to this

I didn't apply to this school for this very reason - they seemed iffy on the funding, especially for international students. For comparison, Tulane was very upfront with me on the lack of funding before I made a decision. The head of the program, some faculty, and the admissions coordinator emailed me to let me know (with regrets).
HealthServicesGirl 0 Posted February 14, 2018 Congrats to those admitted to Michigan's HSOP PhD program! Has anyone who wasn't admitted heard from them? I haven't heard anything and there are no updates in my portal on Wolverine Access. Am I to assume I'm wait listed/rejected, or is there still hope?

I was told during the interview that since it's a state university, they don't have full funding available but if you get a fellowship/TAship, you will be qualified for in-state tuition. I agree that it's fishy and I think they will miss many great candidates due to this specific reason. Maybe you can find out more from current students. I haven't heard anything since then so I assume they are still processing their applicants! 1 lws007168 reacted to this

I was accepted without an interview, so I didn't get to ask the question myself, but did they indicate a timeline for finding out about fellowships? I applied for the Scholarship deadline, but have received no information about what that even means. Yeah, this school is my failsafe at this point. I love Austin so much that I am willing to work full/part-time and take evening classes where available until I can learn more about funding. That is if everything else falls through! HIVEpiHopeful 2 Posted February 14, 2018 Best of luck to those waiting to hear from UNC. Some decisions have gone out recently as seen on the survey, but I'm primarily interested in ID and haven't heard anything yet. Just hoping that the decision comes soon regardless of the actual decision itself.

Harvard health policy is the only one that has radio silence for me, rest everyone has informally or formally communicated. i even emailed them twice but there has been no response. I applied for the decision sciences track and haven’t seen any postings for that - wondering what silence means and if I should stop anticipating anything and move on ? ughh if only they would say something.. anyone else on the same boat? Hi, just a heads up - I applied last year, I'm now a first year at Hopkins, and I popped into this thread to see what new admits are talking about. I applied to Harvard both GHP in PHS and Decision Sciences in HPM. I got the PHS rejection on Feb 24 and the HPM rejection on March 3. I think acceptances found out a day or two before those dates. So you might have longer to wait. Hope that helps! Edited February 15, 2018 by T7879 1 hpm2018_1 reacted to this
