Received an acceptance from New Mexico State University! They first asked me to interview, and just told me I was accepted without having to interview. If anyone has any opinions about this school, please share!- 439 replies

Does anyone know about the University of Arizona's wait list? When I sent an e-mail they said they couldn't provide more information, which I understand. They also said they did not have a wait list last year, but I saw on the results page that at least 1-2 people reported getting accepted off the wait list last year. Good luck to all of my fellow wait list people

Hello! I can comment on the weather aspect. I have visited and spent a lot of time in Tucson and Phoenix (Tempe is very near to Phoenix) during the heat of the summer and I can attest that while it is hot, it is not so bad! I am not sure where you are coming from, but if you are coming from a very humid place I think you will appreciate the dry heat. Everywhere has air conditioning and even air misters, so you really don't feel the heat too much. Plus it is beautiful out there!- 19 replies

Why am I not getting chosen
Southwestspeechie replied to soontobeslp2018's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Wait lists do not mean that you will necessarily get rejected! Also please remember this process is so competitive, much more than what it was like for undergrad. You are about to graduate and that is a huge accomplishment! If I were you I would start to look for things you could do during a possible gap year, in my opinion this might make you feel better because you will start to see that there still is a lot you could do even if you don't start school right away. If you do have to wait a year, definitely retake your GRE. Best of luck to you! -

I am wondering the same thing about not attending an open house. I already visited the school and have been wait listed and I don't have $400 to spend on a plane ticket during my final semester. Hopefully someone can provide insight! I would say in your case definitely e-mail them and let them know your reasons on why you cannot attend but that you are grateful to receive the invitation.

Thank you for providing that information :). I just found out I've been wait listed But I'm hoping that changes into an acceptance! Congratulations to you!

Mine also says this, but I am confused because I thought you could submit uploaded unofficial transcripts through the application. -

Hello! I have also been accepted to Northern Arizona! I visited the campus and the faculty were all very nice! I really liked the opportunities they offered and the facility. Flagstaff is a bit of a small town though. Have you visited there yet?

Dealing with waiting
Southwestspeechie replied to soontobeslp2018's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I've just been waitlisted to my top choice...I am pretty heartbroken and I am not sure how I will make it to April to find out the final decision. But I will say that you are not a disappointment to anyone! Even getting to this point in your academic career is a huge accomplishment! Good luck to you!- 20 replies

Hello! I visited and it is my top choice school! I met with Dr. Fabiano-Smith, who is the director of the bilingual certificate program and she has been extremely helpful through out the process. Tucson is a really great city, even though it is a bit smaller. The campus was really nice. From what I can determine everything is relatively in the same area on campus, including the clinic. Hope that information helps! May I ask when you applied/ if you were accepted into the 2yr/3yr? Thanks!

I am in the same boat! I applied as a full-time leveler so I am not sure if they process our applications differently. They have been rejecting people too so I don't think we should be concerned yet. In past years it looks like they have sent out acceptances well into March. -
