Does anyone have insider knowledge about when WUSTL will be extending interview invites? Not a lot of data from past years in the Results section.

Per  this  CUDCP calendar, it looks like only interview day listed for Yale is Monday February 3rd

I do, too; glad to know it's still appropriate for this situation.  I'm still in undergrad and most faculty sign off their emails with Dr. and only use first names if they prefer that so I started second-guessing it.

I haven't gotten the impression that there is a specific time, but the formal invites I have gotten so far have all come out in the afternoon, and all (2 lol) requests for an informal phone call have come in after 9pm weirdly enough. But that said I have definitely not heard from every school and I would guess it's dependent on when the department meets to discuss applications and when the PI has time to email/call.

 

So basically obsessively check your email every hour has been my unhealthy motto ?‍♀️

I would assume not like 3AM, but also keep in mind the USA spans 4 time zones (not even considering Alaska and Hawaii). So for example, if you're in the Eastern time zone, an invitation from someone on the west coast could come at a time you might consider "late" (like 10PM), but over there, it's only 7PM.

I've received 3 interview invites so far. When adjusting for POI time zones, one came at 9AM, one came around 11AM, and one came around 6PM.

I've received five interviews and they have all come around the end of the work day (5pm) for the various schools.

Got invited to an on campus interview, with an optional dinner the night after. Would it reflect poorly on me not to go? It sounds nice but I'm worried about running out of days I can take off work.

Always try to go to as many events as you can. I wouldn’t say it’ll reflect poorly but you want as much face time as possible.

Yes, it’d tell the program that their interview isn’t a priority unfortunately.

My research experience includes 1.5 yrs as a GA and 2yrs in a lab (clinical research),  Co-author - 1 journal publication , 2 manuscripts under review, 3 published abstracts, 10 mid-author on various presentations (International, National and Regional Conferences), 2 co-author posters presentations and 1 first author poster presentation. I took the GRE spur of the minute making a 154V, 154Q and at 3.5 on the writing section. Am I a definite rejection in your opinion?

Honestly I don't think so. Most programs have a cut-off, but stipulate that they make exceptions. Also, most faculty don't care about GRE scores at all really. It may be an issue in the admissions office, but once they wave you through, I doubt it'll be a huge issue, at least from the faculty members I've spoken with. My understanding is that faculty care MUCH more about fit, research/clinical experience, etc. I don't think you're a definite rejection and it's also still very early the in the process to count yourself out entirely!
