The main thing I am concerned about is practicum this summer, which may get either cancelled or not start when it is supposed to, leaving us with less hours than we are supposed to get. I know they are making swift efforts in my program to get set up for telehealth for those doing therapy practica; however, for those of us doing assessment practica, you can't really do a standardized assessment via video conferencing, so it's tricky! Thank you for your response! I guess it makes sense. I've heard people on internship get leniency with their hours, so hopefully you will receive some accommodations as well. 12 hours ago, VanessaB said: I'm a full-time staff member in a post-secondary institution. We're still expected to work (and in the case of my office we are still expected to physically be at work), so I suspect there will still be someone to call and annoy if you wish to do so. ? I just don't understand this. Can't phones be forwarded to home offices? I realize that there are some things that require physical presence in the office, but most of us have been disrupted in some way or another, why risk the wellbeing of the staff in this way?

Oh trust me, I agree, but I also don’t want to lose my job, and I would ideally like to continue working until I move for grad school. It puts a whole new meaning in working oneself to death I suppose?! I think they’re trying to work out a way for us to still fully do our job in ways that don’t expose us as much to the public. I guess my office is deemed a front-facing service because we deal with members of the public rather than students already enrolled, so we can’t solely shift to fully online until the provincial government gives us the green light. That being said, I called in sick today due to a sore throat, so they might require me to self-isolate anyways.

Having an income until then is essential. 8 minutes ago, VanessaB said: I think they’re trying to work out a way for us to still fully do our job in ways that don’t expose us as much to the public. Or are the universities not sending things out because they are not working right now because of covid-19? I’m confused on how to interpret this and if it is even possible to get an answer with everything going on. I would call them or send them an email to ask about the status of your application. My application was also still "Under Review" and when I emailed to ask about it, they told me that I was waitlisted. So I would not assume it's a rejection. Hope that's helpful.
gradlady Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I am wondering if there anyone has received an offer from UTSC ( U of T Scarborough ) for Counselling and Clinical MA or even if anyone knows if offers have gone out yet? Could you please DM me? Thanks so much!

Mickey26 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 FYI update on CGS-M according to my university: "The Tri-Agency (NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR) recognizes that the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting students, researchers, and academic institutions across Canada and around the world. As such, timelines for some programs will be modified. The results release date for the Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s Program (CGS-M) and the Canada Graduate Scholarships–Doctoral (CGS-D) will be postponed to mid-April." https://www.dal.ca/faculty/gradstudies/news/COVID-19-FAQs.html springxsummer and 123Caf 1 1

Did you apply for doctoral or masters level? MA was december, so maybe they needed more time. I got an email from NSERC saying that they were going to delay results, but that you could view each institutions results individually as they become available, was my understanding. Applications go through departmental, faculty, and institutional levels (for MA anyways) so I’m assuming COVID has caused some delays.
incognit0 Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Anyone still waiting to hear back from the University of Ottawa?

orchid72 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I just received an automated email from CGS-M saying that the status of my application has been updated. When I log in, nothing has actually changed but the time that an update was made is shown so I'm guessing I will see it on April 1. There's a warning about the "Terms and Conditions prior to accepting an award" but I don't remember if that's always been there. Does this show up for everyone?

Roz23 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Just received my rejection from OISE SCCP today. A little surprised since I did have an interview, but I'm not too upset because I'm not sure if I was ready for grad school yet anyways or if it's definitely the right path for me. Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting for decisions!! Now What and OnThePath01 2
Quicksilver25 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Is anyone who's admitted to UCalgary for fall 2020 having trouble registering for classes? I keep getting a error saying I need the department's consent to enroll in the classes I've chosen. I've already sent an e-mail to the department asking about this. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
prospectclin Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 For anyone who applied to CIHR at York - has your research portal been updated? Mine says the last update was when I submitted my app but the other schools I applied to have made a decision
SweetPotato589 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Hi all, I hope you're holding out in the craziness of the times. For those of you in or near programs- are there any *real* whispers of the 2020 school year being delayed actually going around? Can you give us an update on this forum if yes? As an international student (sitting in quarantine here in France....), it's pretty impossible to plan your future, like getting plane tickets, selling furniture, getting rid of your apartment, etc. for the moment.... Happy Wednesday everyone, in any case!

Happy Wednesday everyone, in any case! I'm at Dalhousie University and honestly I don't think they are able to call it--its simply too early and we don't know the progression of the disease four months from now. My department has essentially cancelled all departmental functions until end of June. But there hasn't been any talk about delaying the 2020/2021 school year (yet). Sorry this isn't helpful!

No worries! Glad to have some news, in any case. I've seen from here that it's just developing with the times. I'll just do my best to make all the non-permanent plans for now.
