On their website it says invites don't start going out until February, their interview dates are in March, but maybe some informals before that.

It's hard for me to tell. The email is address to me instead of "Dear applicant" and has my POI's name in the body of the email, but the rest seemed like standardized information. West Virginia Clinical Child Psychology PhD sent out their invites in December for interview day 1/25, and I believe it is the same interview day for all the programs, from what I gathered from my POI. I know someone who got an offer last week for the 'Forensic' track. The person interviewed in early December.

Google it yourself/look up recent papers from the lab. This is not something you should ask about... it sounds like you didn’t do your homework. You can maybe ask “I’ve read xyz, but what are some new projects your lab is starting?” Steph93 1
