I wonder if U of T is rolling out admissions based on their top choices and then tomorrow they will start all over again from A-Z? Just a thought that gives me a slight amount of hope.

I like your thinking.. I really hope

This might sound stupid, but to test my theory, could whoever applied to U of T like this comment?

I know that there are probably some people who applied to U of T that aren't on here but this might just give us a ballpark?

I can’t like any more comments either, but I applied as well!

If you don't mind me asking, what did the notification look like on Acorn? Under "Degree Registration Status" did it change to "Invited" ?

I don't mind at all! It changed to invited with orange lettering and then a deposit fee was outstanding for 500$

GradCafe won't let me like anymore comments today, apparently I've reached the reaction limit lol. But I've applied to UofT :)

Me too!

Hey everyone, I just came up with another idea which is to post anything related to U of T in this group, that way we won't bombard everyone who isn't interested in U of T with our comments since there's so many! lol

And the amount of people that will follow this group could potentially indicate the amount of people that applied?

Hopefully this will work! :)

Congrats to those who've been accepted to uoft!! How were you notified? SGS, ACORN or email??

I got notified by email at 10 something this morning to check my decision but acorn and Sgs were also updated. Goodluck!

Hi Everyone, it’s been exciting to watch this. Congratulations to everyone getting acceptances and closure after this year’s application process. I’m curious if any U of T applicants also applied to the University of Calgary? I’m on the waitlist for Calgary’s 2 year program and wondering if this movement at U of T could hopefully create some movement over here. Just thought I’d throw that question out there. Take care everyone!

For those who have received an acceptance letter for U of T 2 year program did the letter provide any information on # of applicants this year, # of spots, or timeline to respond with a decision?

My last name is K and my acorn just changed to show that I am invited for degree registration status and that I have an admission deposit. What does this mean???!!! No email or change on Sgs

Likely means you're in - in previous years they said that Angela had confirmed that the acorn change meant an offer of admission. Congrats!

Edited to say admission rather than acceptance for clarity

Does anyone in this group have a last name initial of G, H or I? Mine is G and I am getting nervous that they've skipped over me since it went from someone hearing with F to someone hearing with J

My last name starts with H and still says under review.

Hi everyone ❤️

I just got accepted to UofT's 2 year program (initials A.K.) and I'm currently crying at work!!! I got the e-mail at 8:27 and I got SO anxious because all it says is "A decision as been made", so I called my best friend while SHAKING and I immediately started crying when I saw the acceptance!

I'm a long time lurker and I honestly wasn't too hopeful as I was applying for the first time but I am OVER THE MOON! I'm also waiting to hear back from York and Laurier. I'm sending you all good vibes and hoping you guys hear back with good news very soon ?!

I was also wondering if anyone knows how much the yearly tuition for MSW is at UofT? I'm not able to find anything recent that specifies :(

*** ALSO wanted to congratulate everyone who got in as well!?

If you don't mind me asking, how much experience did you have in the field? And what were some of your experiences? I am planning to apply this coming fall and need any information I can get. Also are you aware if they look at grades from all four years or just the last year?

Hi! I was in psych so I had a bit of counselling experience and a 84% average in my last year. I think thats all they looked at for grades but I'm not sure. I wrote a thesis and presented at a couple conferences so that helped. I've worked in four psychology research labs during my undergrad as well!

I had maybe 1000-1500 hrs of "relevant" experience depending on what each school counted. this was a mix of things like working as a camp counselor, volunteering in pride organizations & counselling positions, and a few community based jobs I've had. Honestly I had really low confidence when I applied as I had been rejected from psych grad programs twice so its hard to say for sure what was different now!

Good luck with your applications!

After a long work day I came home to the notification that a decision has been made on my application. I got accepted to the 2-year MSW program with UofT!!!! I am beyond excited and grateful!

For those of you who are inquiring re: if the acceptances are being sent out in alphabetical order- my last name starts with the letter C.

Also, I just wanted to add that this is my second time applying, as last year I was wait-listed and then rejected to every single post-grad program I had applied to. With that being said, PLEASE never give up on yourself!! I felt so defeated that I almost didn't apply this year. Continue to keep pushing, because eventually you will get your desired outcome! I am also still waiting to hear news from Laurier's 2-year MSW program, which I also applied to for this upcoming fall.

this is my first time posting but just wanted to let you all know i've been reading this forum obsessively these past few weeks, thank you all for your insight and words of support! My last name begins with an 'F' and I was accepted to UofT's MSW 2 year program at 4:30pm yesterday. I am SO excited and looking forward to meeting some of you...hopefully in person! Congrats to everyone who has heard, and to those still waiting I just want to echo NEVER GIVE UP! It's been a long road for me and I can't believe the moment is here, but my journey certainly moulded me in every way I needed it to - trust that the universe always has your back in the long haul. Have a great weekend all ?

I was notified at 3:20pm yesterday. Yes, this was my first choice! I am still holding out for a bit though, as I want to see what the response will be from Laurier.

If you don’t mind me asking, Did you apply anywhere else aside from Laurier and UOT?

Sorry to be annoying. I know I read quite a few rejections from York's 2 year program last week. Has anyone been accepted? Still sitting in limbo on that one. Thanks in advance. Positive thoughts to everyone struggling with anxiety today as we wait ?

Hi Kal008,

I am waiting to hear from York as well. If I hear anything about my application status I will let you know!
